Fire Island Beach House

Great location. A “band aid “ on an old property and rooms. Love that there is bar service at the pool although no one monitors that Ppl walk off the ferry and use the pool and bring their own drinks. Most disappointing is for over $600 a Night we don’t have hot water and no one cares or say they are sore or have tried to compensate us for it !!! Still following up for hot water for 8 plus hours after we have been told it will be on in a few minutes. Again with zero apology for our inconvenience!

From the minute of walking in the room there was a horrible stench. Upon inspecting what it could be, i look up and there is black mold and tons of dust in the ac units that blow out the air. The ac unit looks like it was never serviced ever. How do you charge so much money and not service the ac units and have them cleaned. Especially when charging over 300$ a night for a 10x10 room. To add to the fact there was a light not working. And the air vent in the bathroom was dripping rust on to the toilet. Noone services these rooms? Or checks functionality of items? They had two pieces of wood stored in the side of the room with nails sticking out. If i could give 0 stars i would. One of the worst stays at a hotel i ever had.

Trip was ruined by a pro-Trump party that was hosted here (it’s 2023). It had taken over the pool area for an entire day of our trip and we were not told about the lack of access to this major amenity ahead of time! Steer clear of this place at all costs! The room was kind of falling apart. The only good thing was the A/C worked and it’s very close to the beach.

STAY AWAY! First time staying at the hotel and it was an absolutely horrible experience. The only thing that deserves 5-stars is the location. The hotel itself is run down. We stayed in room 28 and were told the hotel had no hot water at 5pm but would be fixed soon. We showered an hour later because we had dinner reservations at 7pm and still no hot water. We all, including my 9 year old, had to shower in freezing cold water since we had been at the beach and had to rinse off the sand. My nephew in room 10 said that they checked their water the next morning and they still didn’t have hot water. Came back from dinner and the tv wasn’t working. It said it had no connection. Called the front desk and a very argumentative front desk employee had an attitude about it. He wasn’t apologetic that we were having issues with the tv. He said he had to come up to figure it out but it was 10pm and my daughter was in bed. I asked him to walk me through the steps and after a very confusing walk through, his instructions didn’t work. I told him that first we have no hot water and now no tv. With a nasty attitude he said he had workers come in a water taxi to fix the water problem. I told him that they must have come after 7pm because we didn’t have hot water and it was a huge inconvenience. He never apologized and only said he fixed it and that was it. As I was talking to him on the phone, the board frame of the bed fell off and it almost hit my foot. Thankfully I moved it fast enough so it wouldn’t hit me. The bed sheets felt very moist as if they hadn’t fully dried off when they made the bed. The following morning we woke up to see mold on the ceiling. Unreal! The pool area was disgusting and the water had a weird smell. For $700+ a night, this place was absolutely disgusting and a complete waste of money. The only good thing about this hotel is that it’s walking distance to the beach but so are other hotels/home rentals. STAY AWAY! Next year we will be staying elsewhere.
